Data through August 2026
- Matching records in our dataset

- Permit terms covered
- 398
The records come from a selected set of Florida jurisdictions with unequal coverage, and every number on this page is scoped to them.
How we count.
Evidence
The largest categories
Roofing, mechanical work and openings appear frequently in the dataset. These categories include replacements and alterations to existing buildings as well as work associated with new construction.
A large count shows that many records matched the category. It does not tell us the size, value or difficulty of those jobs.
- Roofing & Roof Systems
- 607,749
- HVAC & Mechanical Systems
- 485,290
- Windows, Doors & Glazing
- 356,662
Counts are not additive: a permit can match more than one term. Adding category counts can count the same permit more than once.
Work that may need architectural drawings
The records also include new homes, additions, alterations, pools and accessory buildings. The services on this site help readers understand the design and documentation that these projects may need.
The required drawings and design team depend on the work. A category match does not establish that an architect or a sealed drawing set was required.
- Single-Family, Duplex & Manufactured Housing
- 296,858
- New Construction & Expansion
- 87,512
- Remodel, Alteration & Interior Buildout
- 81,660
- Pools, Spas & Aquatic Features
- 117,956
Counts are not additive: a permit can match more than one term. Adding category counts can count the same permit more than once.
Counts describe filings
A category with many matching records is not a recommendation to carry out that work. The figures provide context about filings, rather than a ranking of trades or services.
Where a share is shown, it relates to the records analyzed. Categories overlap, so their shares should not be added together.
