About

About FloridaArch

Understand the work you may need, explore Florida permit records and prepare a clear request for an architecture practice.

What we do

Start with your project

You may be planning a home, adapting a commercial space or working out which drawings a permit application needs. The service pages explain common scopes, what information to gather and what to discuss with a practice.

FloridaArch also lets you send a project request to a Florida architecture practice. Describe the location and the work you have in mind; the practice can discuss the scope and a quote with you.

We are an independent service, not a design practice or a government agency. We do not verify, rank or endorse responding practices. Project advice, drawings and any appointment come from the practice you choose.

Find the information you need

Architecture services

Compare new-home design, additions, renovations, commercial work and permit drawings. Each page explains the scope and questions to raise.

Permit guides and articles

Read explanations of permit terms, project patterns and declared values, including the limits of what the records can tell you.

Florida permit data

Explore matching permit counts and declared values by topic. These figures describe recorded activity; they are not a quote for your project.

How we count

Check the data coverage, matching rules and gaps before comparing figures. A recorded permit value is not the same as a final construction cost.

Preparation

Make your request easier to answer

You do not need a finished brief to get started. A few concrete details help the practice understand the work and identify what it still needs to know.

  • The project address or city, and whether the property is residential or commercial.
  • What you want to build or change, with approximate size or dimensions if known.
  • Any existing drawings, survey, photographs or sketches you already have.
  • Any permit application, review comments or notice that prompted the request.
  • Your intended timing and budget, including anything you are still deciding.

If you are unsure which service fits, describe the situation in your own words and choose ‘Other, or not sure yet’ on the form.

Before you appoint someone

Check the practice and the proposal

Ask who will be responsible for your project and for examples of similar work. Professional registration is public record in Florida; check it directly with the state before engaging anyone.

Before agreeing to a proposal, ask:

  • Which drawings, site visits and specialist work are included?
  • Who will submit the permit application and respond to review comments?
  • How are design changes, extra visits or additional work charged?
  • What are the expected design stages, payment terms and schedule?

Agree the scope, fees and responsibilities directly with the practice. A request through this site does not appoint anyone or guarantee permit approval.

Questions

Common questions

What happens after I send a request?

We pass your project details to a Florida architecture practice. Discuss the scope, fees and schedule directly with the practice before deciding to proceed.

Can I request a quote if I am not sure what plans I need?

Yes. Describe the location and what you want to build or change. You can choose 'Other, or not sure yet' on the form.

Are the drawings sealed?

Some scopes require sealed documents, while others do not. Agree the preparation and sealing responsibilities with the practice. Architectural and engineering documents may require different professionals; a seal does not guarantee approval.

Professional registration is a matter of public record in Florida. Check it directly with the state before you engage anyone.
