Data through August 2026

The records come from a selected set of Florida jurisdictions with unequal coverage, and every number on this page is scoped to them.
How we count.
Evidence
Terms with more recent mentions
Battery storage, charging equipment and accessory dwelling units appear more often in recent records than in earlier parts of the dataset.
These terms describe different types of work. Each project still needs its own review of location, equipment, existing conditions and application requirements.
- "battery storage" matching permits
- 2,710
- "EV charger" matching permits
- 3,994
- "accessory dwelling unit" matching permits
- 1,807
Counts are not additive: a permit can match more than one term. Adding category counts can count the same permit more than once.
Why more records do not establish market growth
A term can gain matches because more jurisdictions are publishing, applicants use different wording, or more of the work is being filed. The raw counts do not separate those causes.
Year-over-year comparisons on this site use jurisdictions represented in both years. That makes the coverage more comparable, although other differences in reporting can remain.
Using the information for a project
A term page can help identify related work and vocabulary for a project discussion. It does not establish a standard drawing package, predictable review questions or a shorter approval process.
The property, proposed installation and local requirements determine whether the work is suitable and how it should be documented.
