FLORIDA PERMIT DATA
What this page is based on
Data through August 2026
- Matching records in our dataset
- 2,663,640
- Permit terms covered
- 398
The records come from a selected set of Florida jurisdictions with unequal coverage, and every number on this page is scoped to them.
How we count.
Field note
Openings and the surrounding structure
Window and door work may require product approvals, design pressures and installation details. Where opening protection is required, the selected system needs to suit the building and site.
Roof covering, deck attachments and roof-to-wall connections are also relevant to wind resistance. They need their own assessment and documentation.
- "impact window" matching permits
- 29,761
- "shutter" matching permits
- 42,438
- "window replacement" matching permits
- 207,112
- "hurricane screen" matching permits
- 10,102
Counts are not additive: a permit can match more than one term. Adding category counts can count the same permit more than once.
The filing pattern
Roofing and opening records in this dataset are more concentrated in late winter and spring. That pattern describes filings rather than the cause or timing of the underlying work.
It does not establish that preparing a set in a particular season will lead to faster approval. Discuss the current schedule with the practice, contractor and reviewing office.
- Roofing busiest month
- March
- Index against an average month
- 1.21
- Windows Doors busiest month
- June
- Index against an average month
- 1.12
- Hvac busiest month

- Index against an average month
- 1.20
The index compares each month with an average month in the records. It describes the filing pattern, not review times or project deadlines.
Planning work on an older building
Improvements can be coordinated across openings, roofing and connections. The right sequence depends on existing construction, access and the requirements triggered by the proposed work.
Agree the investigations, design and permit scope before deciding whether to combine the work or carry it out in stages.
Setting expectations
The permit records do not establish review times, fees or the likelihood of approval. Ask the relevant authority about its process.
A project request through this site starts a discussion with a practice about the work, documentation and quote.
